October 26th, 2024. Stone Valley Estates. I was invited again to second shoot a wedding for Rachel Householder Photography. The weather? A photographer's dream – crisp, slightly chilly, quintessential autumn perfection. The kind of day where the light hits differently and makes everything look like it's been dipped in honey.
The Avanesov's opted for a burnt orange and scarlet red color palette that had me audibly gasping behind my camera. Against the backdrop of enchanted lighting and fall foliage? The way those colors popped against the autumn landscape had me feeling things I'm not emotionally equipped to process.
Midway through the reception, Rachel and I grabbed the couple after noticing that the sunset was turning into something miraculous outside, and we weren't about to let it pass us by. Those fifteen stolen minutes produced some of my favorite shots of the entire day – the newlyweds bathed in that impossible sunset light, with her lace sleeves catching fire in the golden glow. Worth every second of the mild panic attack I had asking them to ditch their own party. Some weddings you shoot and some weddings you feel. The Avanesov's enchanted autumn celebration? Definitely the latter. My camera and I were just lucky enough to be there to witness it all.
