Engagement shoots are not just about capturing beautiful photos; they're about capturing the raw emotions and love between couples. As a photographer, your first engagement shoot can be an exhilarating experience, but it can also make you feel like you're going to crap your pants at the drop of a hat. I would know, because I just did my first one last week. Kimmy & Zach's vision for their engagement session was editorial + candid moments with a classic convertible car. I said "say less." We met at the Raystown Dam earlier in the evening, where we were met with a red Chevelle, and an orange Mach.

They spent the session killing every pose and prompt I gave them.. seriously, someone cooked there. As we wrapped up the shooting with the cars, I asked if the couple was willing to continue shooting just the two of them. With the sun finally beginning to fall, lighting up the water and illuminating the couple with beautiful golden light, the setting felt incredibly dreamy. We finished the session after venturing over to the dam itself and taking a few last stunning photos that featured more of the water itself.
